About Nada
As a writer, photographer, and drone filmmaker, I’ve spent 27 years watching the world above pretend certain stories don’t exist — all while living underwater, so to speak. Moreover, my whole life has been defined by this contradiction: bearing witness to what others choose to ignore.
Growing up between cultures — Palestinian, Lebanese, German, Italian — shaped everything about how I see the world. Furthermore, that multicultural foundation pushed me to travel globally and study Humanities in a War Zone at University of Ulster. Yet something about that struggle made the soothing ocean become a balm, a place where I could finally breathe.
My work now exists at the intersection of sea, land, sky, and the fight for truth. Because of this, I document agri-travel narratives that connect food, land, and the people who tend both. I dive into underwater worlds most people will never see. Additionally, drones carry my camera above landscapes that are quietly vanishing. Still, the most vital work I do is telling stories about the overlooked — the communities, ecosystems, and cultures that the world is quietly letting go.
Four daughters keep me grounded and remind me daily why this work matters. For example, one is pursuing her PhD in Earth Systems Sciences and Ecology, working to protect and understand world oceans, fisheries, and the Florida Keys. Two have gone into the military. Meanwhile, the most impactful one — in many ways — is my uniquely abled daughter. Her idiosyncratic life has taught our whole family how to handle constant frustration with a perspective that resists easy explanation.
I’ve lived in war zones and witnessed firsthand what it looks like when people hide the truth. Consequently, I know what it means when a story doesn’t get told.
My mission is to tell the stories that do get told — for the Laila’s of the world, for the war torn, for the underserved, for people who are great forces for change. Therefore, I’m committing the next however many years to this work, one frame at a time.
Ultimately, if you have a story that deserves to be told fearlessly — I’m your person.
